THE SQUADRON
THE HISTORY
459 has been here serving Windsor for around 80 years, offering opportunities for teenagers, young adults, and even staff, that they can't get any where else.
Since it's founding, the squadron has been through a lot of changes - from the volunteers that staff it, to the cadets that excel within it, and even to the building and grounds that host us.
Throughout it's history however, one thing has remained constant; A desire to fulfil the overarching motto that guides every RAFAC squadron...
Venture. Adventure.
AND NOW
Today, 459 (Windsor) Squadron consists of around 45 cadets and 8 members of staff, parading every Monday and Thursday.
We regularly take part in all activities and opportunities offered by RAFAC across the UK and abroad and unfailingly strive to excel in #whatwedo
Whether it's flying, fundraising, competing or studying. Whether 459 is on parade, at work, or relaxing at home - our cadets and staff constantly work to uphold the squadron's motto...
Seek. Challenge. Overcome.
SQUADRON STAFF
The backbone of 459 is its 'Cadet Forces Adult Volunteers' (CFAVs for short!), who bring a diverse wealth of experience to the squadron, from all sorts of backgrounds. Each one brings something unique to the table, and are crucial in the running of the squadron, day after day.

A key part of 459 is it's civilian arm, made up of parents and friends of the squadron. They assist the OC, give the squadron direction, and crucially, fundraise to support the many activities provided for 459 cadets.
