THE AIR TRAINING CORPS

From front line fast jet pilots, to engineers, nurses, and just about every career in-between, you'll often find cadets and ex-cadets excel thanks to the skills and confidence they gain through their time in the ATC.

We're sponsored by the Royal Air Force, and with their support, we offer an amazing set of experiences for all Cadets who join us.

Fly solo. Enjoy a week of adventure training. Work on your band skills. Manage amazing engineering projects, shoot targets at long distance, build your confidence - and gain a great group of friends that will be with you for life. All standard stuff for a cadet.

And you could be part of it!

For more information on all the activities the ATC get up to, take a look at #whatwedo on twitter, and here on the site.

Formed in 1941, The ATC - better known as the 'Air Cadets' - is one of the largest youth organisations in the world, with over 40,000 cadets, male and female, aged 12 to 20.

The Air Training Corps (or ATC) primary aims are threefold:-

1. To promote and encourage among young people a practical interest in aviation and the Royal Air Force.

2. To provide training which will be useful in the Services and civilian life.

3. To foster the spirit of adventure and develop qualities of leadership and good citizenship

The ATC's role is not to act as a recruiting agency for the armed forces - however many of our cadets do go on to very successful careers, often in very supportive and rewarding roles.
